Services
In this one-to-one session, we’ll explore:
🍼 The best pump options tailored to your needs and budget
🔍 An overview of flange sizing — what to look for and why it matters
🚼 How to start pumping (or how to safely stop)
💡 When and how to use your pump most effectively
🧼 How to clean and sterilise your pump parts
❄️ How to safely store breast milk
🔁 When to replace consumable parts like valves, membranes, and tubing
📈 How pumping may support increasing your milk supply
This is not an in-person flange fitting session, but general sizing guidance will be included. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the many pump options out there or just need expert support to get started (or finish up!), this session is for you.
This service offers two weeks of unlimited text-based support from an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), available via text message or email. It’s ideal for general breastfeeding guidance and reassurance around normal newborn behaviour.
Please note that this service does not include phone or video calls. In rare cases, if I feel your situation would be better supported through a video consultation or in-person visit, I may recommend this as an additional step.
You’ll receive kind, professional support with guaranteed replies within 24 hours – though I usually respond much sooner. I generally don’t reply between 10:30pm and 8:30am, so I can also rest and recharge to support you as best I can.
While the booking system may show a 15-minute appointment, this is simply to secure your place – your support will continue via message or email for a full two weeks from your selected start date.
If you have any urgent medical concerns or are experiencing an emergency, please contact your GP, the out-of-hours doctor, or attend your local Emergency Department immediately.
Once you’ve booked, I’ll send you clear instructions over email on how and what to measure. You’ll then provide your nipple measurements, and answers to the questions asked.
Based on this, I’ll recommend a starting flange size and type to help you find a more comfortable fit for your pumping setup.
Please note: This service focuses exclusively on determining the appropriate flange size to start with and does not include breastfeeding support or assistance with breast pumps beyond flange fitting.
As this is a remote service, the recommended size is a starting point. Flange sizes can change naturally over the course of your breastfeeding or pumping journey, so adjustments may be needed as time goes on.
Also, while the booking system shows a 15-minute appointment, this is simply to secure your place. The support you’ll receive via email will extend beyond this, ensuring you get the help you need.
Learn what to watch out for as you move back into the workplace in a way that makes the transition as easy as possible for both you and your little one.
Now includes a free 15 min followup session to be used within your first month back to tweak and fine tune things.
Mini consults can take place either in person or over a video call — whichever suits you best.
This service is offered at a discounted rate for existing clients as part of your ongoing support.

During this appointment, you'll have the chance to try a range of flange sizes and styles in person to find the best fit for you.
Accurate sizing is key to a positive pumping experience — don't just settle for the flange that came with your pump!
Finding your true size can make pumping more comfortable, more efficient, and more productive.
You’ll keep the flanges that fit you best.
If time allows, we can also address some breast pump-related questions during your appointment.
Insurance Information:
Many health insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for two IBCLC home visits. Please check your policy for details and take advantage of this benefit if available to you.
This consultation takes place at my clinic just outside Mullingar (N91 RD70) and typically lasts around 90 minutes.
During our time together, we will talk through any concerns, difficulties, or questions you have about breastfeeding or pumping. We will also explore your personal feeding goals and create an individualised care plan that feels right for you.
Ahead of your appointment, you will receive an intake form by email. This form gathers information about your medical history, any previous breastfeeding experiences, your pregnancy, and the birth of your baby.
Please complete it as best you can — it helps me prepare to support you in the most tailored way possible. If there are any parts you’re unsure about, don't worry; we can go through them together at your appointment.
During the consultation, I will assist you with latching, positioning, and getting comfortable. Together, we will work to identify any underlying causes for the challenges you and your baby are experiencing. From there, we will develop a care plan you feel confident about, with the aim of helping you reach your own unique breastfeeding goals.
Every breastfeeding journey is different — and every goal is valid.
Whether you're working toward exclusive breastfeeding, exclusively expressing milk, combining breastfeeding with formula, or finding a combination that works for your family, I am here to support you. Sometimes we may also explore different tools and strategies to help you meet your goals.
A breastfeeding problem usually has a breastfeeding solution, and I will do my best to help you find a path forward that feels right for you.
Please note:
If you require a flange fitting, please book that as a separate appointment. There will not be sufficient time during this consultation for a full flange fitting.

I had a great consultation with Sonya about 6 weeks into my breastfeeding journey. She is so knowledgeable and excellent at explaining the fine details of feeding and pumping. I got 2 new flanges that I would have struggled to find online by myself, and came away encouraged that I am on the right track. I highly recommend an in person consultation for anyone having issues.

I booked an in person flange fitting with Sonya a few weeks ago and I found it really really helpful. Sonya is a wonderful person who put so much time and effort into ensuring that I tried multiple flanges to find the one that worked best for me. She answered any questions I had and gave me super advice for my pumping journey with my newborn. I was delighted to be able to purchase my spectra there from her on the day and a few other really helpful items to get me set up. I would 1000% recommend Sonya to anyone needing any advice on pumping, breastfeeding etc. I have since purchased other items from her website and she has gone above and beyond to help me. A fantastic lady who I would recommend to anyone needing some help. She's absolutely excellent. Thank you Sonya for all your help and advice.
